Lately there has been an increase in impostors reaching out to investors and soliciting money claiming to be a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) These people go missing once money is given to them incurring financial loss and mental trauma to investors.
Please note that as SEBI-registered Investment Adviser:
- We only deal with a person who signs proper agreement with us
- We only provide advice
- We never take money or securities from any person for investment
- We never promise assured returns to investors
Modus operandi used by fraudsters include (but not limited to) :
- creating false profiles on social media platforms such as Twitter, Telegram, Instagram and Facebook, posting false snapshots of performance and luring investors with false claims
- reaching out to investors over phone, email and other modes claiming to be Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) and making false claims
- creating fake profiles of popular SEBI registered Analysts/Advisers on social media platforms and fake mobile apps looking very similar to profiles and apps of genuine entities registered with SEBI
- demanding and taking money for investment, with false claims
Please therefore:
- NEVER deal with any unregistered entity
- ALWAYS verify the authenticity of any person from details available on SEBI website
- NEVER transfer funds to any unknown person
- NEVER take unsolicited calls from unknown numbers
- NEVER click on any link in any message from an unknown person
